Grease and Pace

First post on the sabbatical blog. So, it is 17 days until we take off on our pursuit of the radicals in the Reformation. That is just enough time to figure out how to get around in Europe, exploring out-of-the-way places where there are no monuments or museums to the radicals--only non-descript places where they fled or died for believing in freedom of conscience (or because they were certified whackos--a technical term describing some people whose strong convictions were not even close to rational or reasonable or even very nice.)

This is the blog of the "peripatetic curmudgeon." Peripatetic because, well, I am moving around. "Curmudgeon" because I am at a point in my life where I don't necessarily have to put up with all the silliness around me. I may also give myself the freedom to say things that are not politically correct. This should be fun!

Stay tuned. There will be regular updates, pictures, reflections and deep thoughts. Let's go exploring our free church roots.

  1. Hello Pastor Chuck and Karen,

I hope you arrived in Swiss in good spirit. We are busy preparing for a 4th of July celebration at our home. Just wanted to start the comment queue, and let you know you are in our prayers.
